Treasured Relationships

1. Oliver House, Caledon – A 40 year Partnership

For 40 years, St Barts’ congregational members and friends have been spending time with the very special people living in Oliver House. For the last several years, the Outreach team has taken the lead in this relationship.

We host 3 annual functions:

  1. Bingo & Snacks – March
  2. Games at St Barts & Lunch at Pizza Hut – July
  3. Christmas event – December – providing gifts for each resident, hosted by St Barts’ very own Santa

2. Family Hope Services, Katatura, Namibia

Our Bike Container 3 went to Family Hope Services in the black township suburb of Katatura, Windhoek, Namibia back in 2008. FHS is situated in an area where most homes are tin shacks with no electricity, inside toilets or running water. 6 days a week they feed over 200 children many of whom are orphans. Aids is still a stark reality in Katatura. Over the years our $$ have purchased pressure cookers for the lunch of rice and beans, helped set up an on-site gardening plot, bought school supplies and paid registration fees for children to return to mainstream school.
